Florham Park is seeking a secretary for both boards.
The Borough of Florham Park is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented professional to serve as Planning Board and Zoning Board of Adjustment Secretary. This full-time position (32.5 hr/week) is responsible for coordinating the administrative and operational functions of both Boards and plays a key role in supporting the Borough’s land use process.
Responsibilities include processing and tracking development applications; monitoring application reviews and statutory deadlines; maintaining complete and accurate files and records; preparing meeting agendas and supporting materials; managing the Board’s annual meeting calendars; attending evening Board meetings (up to four nights per month) to record detailed minutes; processing professionals’ payment vouchers; monitoring application escrow accounts; and responding to OPRA (Open Public Records Act) requests.
To accommodate the required evening meetings, this position offers flexibility for the employee’s regular business-hour schedule.
The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and possess strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills. A solid understanding of land use regulations and procedures, excellent attention to detail, and strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Proficiency with standard office and municipal computer systems is essential.
A Rutgers Certificate for Planning and Zoning Board Secretary is required or must be obtained within one year of appointment.
Salary range: $60,000–$80,000, commensurate with experience. The Borough of Florham Park offers an excellent benefits package.
