The City of Hoboken is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of full-time Zoning Officer. Within the Department of Community Development, the Zoning Officer would review building code permit applications for zoning applications to ensure compliance with state, county, and local zoning law compliance. Successful candidates must be able to apply local ordinances, carry out enforcement and conduct field inspections, prepare zoning permits, examine site plans, permit applications, and Planning Board, and Zoning Board of Adjustment submissions. This position is subject to Civil Service examination requirements. The selected candidate may be appointed on a provisional basis and will be required to successfully pass a Civil Service examination when it is scheduled. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
